These gradually open to their full size and provide an extended vase life. Their bold size and gorgeous range of shades, including bicolours, offers plenty of scope for designing with colour. Loved by florists, the Scabiosa Scoop Collection also offers great garden performance. The large, frilly flower heads float high long, strong stems above the basal foliage, lending natural movement and cottage-garden appeal for three whole months, from July to September. • Scabiosa ‘Scoop Blackberry’ – Deep velvety maroon, almost black, flowers with paler stippling
• Scabiosa ‘Marshmallow’ – Dark pink with pale pink frosting, the blooms appearing paler as they open
• Scabiosa ‘Raspberry’ – Fruity, raspberry red
• Scabiosa ‘Dark Purple’ – Rich purple flowers with pale pink frosting
• Scabiosa ‘Lilac’ – Soft lilac blooms that create an effective tonal contrast against the richer, jewel-like varieties.
