Sedum telephium 'Purple Emperor' is a particularly stylish Sedum, with succulent burgundy-black foliage that adds a touch of drama to the front of borders. ‘Purple Emperor’ produces wide panicles of ruby-red flowers in late summer, which persist well into autumn. These striking blooms provide a useful source of nectar for pollinating insects, and are much loved by butterflies. A superb hardy perennial, this variety holds an RHS AGM for its garden performance, and makes an excellent choice for hot, sunny borders and exotic planting schemes. Height and spread: 45cm (18").

1 x 2 litre potted sedum plant (KC1855)

Caution: All parts are harmful if eaten. Plant Sedum plants in a sunny position on fertile, well drained, non acidic soil, working some well rotted manure or garden compost into the ground beforehand.
When growing sedum, water regularly during particularly hot dry periods and until the plants are fully established. Cut back the old stems and foliage of spreading stonecrop plants after flowering to maintain their shape. Sedum is drought tolerant once fully established.
