With unusual cream and lime green flowers, Tree Peony 'Lu Mu Ying Yu' is a plant that stands out in the garden. Tree Peony plants are the perfect plant for adding plenty of colour to gardens early in the year. Mature specimens can have in excess of one hundred large blooms, measuring up to 25cm (10") or more in diameter. They are an ideal plant for garden borders and the flowers can be cut for indoor vases. They flower year after year, with few problems and are very hardy and disease resistant. Height and spread: 150cm (60”).

Culinary information: The petals can be added to salads, or cooked slightly and sweetened for a treat. Peony water was also once considered a delicacy and the blooms can be floated in punches. For more details about edible flowers click here.

1 x 6 Litre Potted Plant (Height 50cm+) (KB6512)

Grow tree peonies in sun or semi shade, in well drained soil. Choose a position that is sheltered from cold winds and shaded from strong early morning sunlight. Add plenty of well rotted manure or compost ensuring that it is mixed in thoroughly and deeply. Plant tree peonies so that the grafted union sits at least 10cm (4") below the soil surface. Shallow planting may hinder establishment and delay flowering.
Feed and water regularly until plants are fully established. Remove faded flowers and cut back old foliage in autumn. In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost to the base of the plant.
