Featuring spires of apricot blooms with pinky centres, Verbascum ‘Peach Champagne’ brings soft, sunset colours into the garden. These sunset hues are invaluable for lifting blues and pinks, creating harmonious pastel contrasts whilst avoiding harsher yellows and oranges. Erect stems carrying multiple flowers rise from basal rosettes of semi-evergreen foliage in early to mid-summer. A shorter variety, Verbascum ‘Peach Champagne’ is perfect for filling gaps at the front of the border or planting into containers.

Although this is a short-lived perennial plants readily self-seed without being unduly invasive. Drought tolerant once established and good for pollinators. Height: 50cm (20in). Spread: 30cm (12in).

Plant Mullein into well drained, neutral or alkaline soil in full sun. Verbascum will thrive on poor, gravelly soils.

Established Verbascum plants require little maintenance. Deadhead faded flower spikes to encourage more verbascum flowers to be produced. Cut back the old stems at the base of the plant in autumn. Plants are perennial but short-lived. Seedlings do not always come true to colour.
