Verbascum phlomoides 'Snow Maiden' bears fantastic upright blooms that are ideal for cutting and fitting seamlessly into summer bouquets. This elegant plant is an excellent architectural feature in any planting scheme, adding both height and movement. This Mullein variety is cherished for its graceful white flower spikes, each featuring a primrose yellow centre, that rise above perennial borders. Despite normally being grown as a short lived perennial or biennial, this Verbascum self seeds to provide a fresh crop of plants the next spring which will flower in the following year. Height: 120cm (47"). Spread: 45cm (18").

Grow Verbascum plants in sunny or semi shaded borders in neutral or alkaline, poor well drained soil.

Established Verbascum plants require little maintenance. Deadhead faded flower spikes to encourage more Verbascum flowers to be produced. Cut back old stems at the base in autumn and remove any damaged and yellowing foliage. In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost around the base of the plant.
