Verbena bonariensis is a well-loved perennial, prized for its glowing mauve-purple blooms. This new dwarf variety means that it’s no longer confined to the back of the border! Verbena bonariensis ‘Royal Dreams’ reaches just 60cm (24”) tall - perfect for mingling with summer perennials and shorter grasses as part of a mixed container, or dotted through gravel gardens and border edges. The nectar rich flowers are loved by pollinating insects making it a useful hardy perennial for wildlife areas. Height and spread: 60cm (24").

Flowering Months
Feed and water plants regularly until they are fully established. Verbena flowers do not require dead heading. In autumn, apply a dry mulch of bark chips or straw to protect the crown of the plant throughout the winter months. Cut back the old stems when new shoots emerge at the base of the plant in spring.
Pot up Verbena bonariensis plants and grow them on in frost free conditions, for transplanting into borders later on. When all risk of frost has passed and plants are well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant outdoors in a sheltered position in any moist, well drained soil in full sun.
