Description How to Grow More Info Delivery
Sweet Rocket bears aromatic clumps of soft lilac to purple flowers from May to July, producing a stunning display when grown in large drifts. Despite Hesperis matronalis being a biennial or relatively short-lived perennial, it will easily seed about to form masses of blooms that will scent the air on a balmy summer evening. The lavishly perfumed flowers will attract many pollinating insects, making Hesperis a superb choice for herbaceous borders and wildlife gardens. Sweet Rocket is also excellent in early summer bouquets. Height: 90cm (36"). Spread: 45cm (18").

Culinary information: Some parts of these flowers are edible. Click here for more details about edible flowers.

Grow Hesperis in fertile, moist, well drained soil. Sweet Rocket tolerates most soils, including chalky, alkaline conditions but dislikes acid soils. Choose a position in sun or partial shade.
Allow faded Hesperis flowers to set seed if further plants are required. It will quickly form large swathes throughout borders.
